Branson shows will go on

Other entertainers echoed similar sentiments.

We are strong. I'm pretty sure we are going to have our best season ever," Mayor Raeanne Presley said.

"Branson is open and if you come here, you'll have an ideal vacation," he said.

Patrickaygood said the family has received an "overwhelming amount of support" from the community.

That was the message Thursday evening from the Live Music Capital of the World as entertainers and officials representing Branson's 50-plus theaters gathered together for a press conference in front of theughes Brothers Theatre on 76 Country Boulevard.

State Division of Tourism Director Katie Steele Danner, a Branson-area native, pledged state support of the Branson area.

Officials noted that traffic is open on 76 and there are no restrictions on any travelers attempting to get to Branson's theaters.

Kathy Lennon said the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre will open on schedule March 14.

"People are asking 'how can we help?'" Lennon said.

"Despite the storm, Branson remains the 'Welcome Center" of America,'" she said.

"We're Open. Wednesday and was already getting texts and calls from people asking how they could help," he said.

Brothers Tim and Patrickaygood announced that despite roof and sound booth damage to The New Americana Theatre on the strip, the family's theater will re-open April 16 with four shows taking the stage.
